All players and team captains/managers should be aware of the FICA competition rules regarding disciplinary offences, in particular:
5.2 EXPULSION (RED CARDS) – All Players receiving red cards will serve a minimum of one week suspension served concurrently with the following expulsion codes.
5.2.1 Expulsion Codes
R1 is guilty of serious foul play
R2 is guilty of violent conduct
R3 spits at an opponent or any other person -
R4 denies the opposing team a goal or an obvious goal scoring opportunity by deliberately handling the ball (this does not apply to a goalkeeper within his or her own penalty area)
R5 denies an obvious goal scoring opportunity to an opponent moving towards the player's goal by an offence punishable by a free kick or a penalty kick
R6 uses offensive or insulting or abusive language and/or gestures
R7 receives a second caution in the same Match
FICA makes every effort to contact players and/or team captains when Red Cards are given, for whatever reason. However, there have been recent incidents of players playing while under suspension. Such players are ineligible to play and therefore their team will forfeit the match. In order to clarify the situation for both officials and players FICA has decided to add information to this website as to which players are currently suspended and for how long. We will still contact team captains individually to confirm the details. Please contact FICA if you need to query the details. All queries will be clarified with reference to the referees report and the match cards. It is therefore important that match cards record precisely the details of each player who played on the night and their numbers.
