Matches Resume 8th/9th March

Match Schedule Resumes 8/9 March 2010 - Postponed Match News
The Council have confirmed that all pitches will be re-opened for training and competition from 4pm Friday 5th March. This means that the schedule for 8/9 March will take place as published. The rest of the schedule will be posted soon, but the summary is this:
Postponed matches from Feb 1st will be played on Thursday 11th March (at slightly earlier times than originally - 6:20 and 7:10pm)
Postponed matches from Feb 23rd will be played on Thursday 18th March (Same times as before as this is a full night)
The scheduled matches from 1st/2nd March WILL NOT be replayed.
A consequence of this is that the draws will probably end with an uneven number of games being played between teams. Although this is unfortunate, completing the earlier sets of matches will mean that we are no more than one round down on what was planned,
The week of 23rd/24th March will be an opportunity to play your nearest rivals for 'line honours' . It will not be a finals series similar to the more competitive 11-a-side competition (which has best & fairest/cups etc!). So 1st place will play 2nd, 3rd play 4th etc. This will be based on the current league table positions as after the matches on 18th March. This will be a chance to measure how far you've come over the season and enjoy the chance to demonstrate that you could have been top/3rd/5th etc instead of 2nd 4th 6th etc.
All results will be published on the webside to show who did what and if anyone takes any pictures of the action they would be welcomed and could be published on the front page!

The CEO of Adelaide United Sam Cicarello and FICA President Paul Lelliott exchanging goodwill gifts during an Alice Springs juniors trip to South Australia. The handpainted ball by Amoonguna artist Rosalie Riley is now on permanent display in the AUFC boardroom. The ball is the principal icon in our “Spirit of Football” logo.
The ‘07 player signed shirt will be auctioned at a welcome- to -country function to be held in Alice Springs. With the assistance of the then Minister of Sport hon.Kon Vatskalis FICA took the opportunity to establish a grassroots relationship with the “A” League powerhouse and the first delegation is scheduled to arrive in Alice Springs in May ’09.
In another coup for Football in Central Australia all juniors registering to play in Alice Springs will become junior members of Adelaide United and will receive a junior supporters pack. FICA is keen to provide similar membership opportunities to remote communities under its Central Australian umbrella. Adelaide United will become “our team” and our juniors will have heroes to follow. The pathway for our juniors is under construction.
